Cancer-Fighting Team Acts Quickly to Help Lung Cancer Patient

Terry and Ginny Collins were understandably anxious after Terry’s lung cancer diagnosis. Suburban Hospital nurse navigator Barbara Doherty immediately connected the Collins family with a specialist.
After being faced with long waits for appointments at other medical centers, Terry and Ginny talked with Barbara, who was able to ease their anxieties and connect them with the right team.
Suburban Hospital’s cancer team began treatment right away. Terry received radiation therapy and chemotherapy to reduce Terry’s lung tumor size, then perform surgery. Because of the dedication and skill of this multidisciplinary team, Terry has no evidence of residual cancer.
