Digital Radiography Speeds Diagnosis and Treatment

February 8, 2018

When a patient arrives in Suburban’s Level II Trauma Center, minutes – and sometimes seconds – count. Since the acquisition of two mobile digital radiography machines, Suburban Hospital has increased the speed in which patients are diagnosed and treated. Lightweight and portable, the devices deliver high-quality images and less radiation than traditional X-ray technology.

For techs tending to non-ambulatory patients in the Emergency and Trauma departments, these devices have afforded them greater maneuverability to easily X-ray one patient after another, going directly to their bedside.

Thanks to the kind generosity of Neil and Emily Kishter of Potomac, Maryland, their gift of $250,000 went towards the purchase of the technology in honor of Emergency Department Director Barton Leonard, M.D.
